Kailesh Reitmans

As a composer and sound designer for film and media, recently, Kailesh composed the score for "Descent", which won the Documentary Australia Foundation Award for Best Documentary at the 2020 Sydney Film Festival and has since been distributed throughout Europe and Australia/ New Zealand. In 2020, he also worked as the music score producer for the new Australia opera, "Émilie and Voltaire". In pioneering a unique genre - opera on film - his work involved bringing many common film scoring and production techniques to the world of opera. The film is set to premiere at the Puccini Chamber Opera Festival in May this year. After having won the Artology Fanfare Competition in 2017, which featured having an orchestral work of his recorded at Trackdown Studios and later broadcast across Australian artistic venues, Kailesh began his career as a sound designer with the Australian Theatre for Young People. Over the past few years, he has sound designed various shows for ATYP as well as several independent productions; most notably, a 2019 production of "The Cripple of Inishmaan" which was the highest ever grossing production at the Old Fitz theatre in Sydney.
